Deploy an app built with Cursor or Claude Code, safely
Short answer
AI coding assistants produce working code quickly, but the code often trusts input, hard-codes keys and leaves debug routes open. Before you deploy, run the eight checks below. A platform that scans every release catches the mechanical ones; the logic checks stay with you.
Eight checks before you go live
- No keys in the code or in the browser. Search for
sk-,AKIA,api_keyand anything prefixedNEXT_PUBLIC_orVITE_that should be secret. - Every route checks who is calling. Ask the assistant to list routes without an authentication check, then read them yourself.
- Users only see their own data. Every query that loads a record filters by the signed-in user or tenant.
- No SQL or shell built from strings. Use parameters, never template strings with user input.
- No debug or seed routes left. Remove /debug, /seed, /test and admin pages without a login.
- Dependencies are current. Update packages with known critical vulnerabilities before release.
- Errors do not leak. Production errors show a plain message, not stack traces or queries.
- Limits exist. Rate limits on login, signup, OTP and any route that sends e-mail or SMS or calls a paid AI API.
What Nexovia checks for you on every release
| Check | Covered |
|---|---|
| Keys in code and in built browser files | Yes, release stops |
| Risky patterns such as queries built from strings | Yes, high and critical stop the release |
| Vulnerable packages with a known fix | Yes, critical stops the release |
| Exposed files such as .git and .env | Yes, and blocked at run time |
| Access checks and data scoping in your logic | No: your review |
Questions
Is code written by Cursor or Claude Code safe to deploy?
It can be, after review. AI assistants commonly hard-code keys, skip authorisation checks and pull outdated packages, so scan every release and review routes and data access yourself.
Where should I host an app built with an AI coding tool?
On a platform that scans each release for leaked keys and vulnerable packages and runs each app in its own sandbox. Nexovia does both, with data in India.
Can the AI assistant fix the problems the scan finds?
Usually yes. Paste the finding with its file and line into the assistant, ask for a fix, and push again.
